Malaysia's First Autonomous Vehicle Remote Operations Center Launches
Cyberjaya, Malaysia, July 31, 2026 — Malaysia's first dedicated Remote Operations Center (ROC) for autonomous logistics has officially begun operations, marking another milestone in Zelostech's expansion in Malaysia following the approval of public-road testing for its L4 RoboVan under the autonomous vehicle regulatory sandbox led by Malaysia's Ministry of Transport.
As one of the world's largest operators of autonomous RoboVan fleets, Zelostech believes that deploying an autonomous vehicle is only the beginning. Long-term operational safety, reliable fleet management, and successful customer deployment require continuous operational support throughout the vehicle lifecycle.
The newly launched ROC reflects that commitment.
With the ROC now operational, the program is ready to transition from regulatory approval to public-road testing. Over the coming months, the Zelostech RoboVan will operate along the 22-kilometer Cyberjaya Malaysia Autonomous Vehicle (MyAV) Route, navigating mixed urban traffic under real-world conditions. Operational data collected during the trial will help support future deployment standards and the broader development of autonomous mobility in Malaysia.
A Central Hub for Safe Fleet Operations
The ROC serves as the operational command center throughout the public-road trial. From a single location, trained operators can monitor live camera feeds, vehicle telemetry, route progress, and system health in real time. If unexpected situations arise, operators can quickly assess vehicle status, coordinate with on-site personnel, and support appropriate operational responses.
Within its approved Operational Design Domain (ODD), the Zelostech RoboVan independently performs the complete dynamic driving task using its onboard Level 4 autonomous driving system. The ROC is not a remote driving system. Instead, it provides continuous operational visibility, enabling human teams to supervise fleet operations, coordinate field support, and respond efficiently when assistance is required.
Supporting Customers Beyond Vehicle Delivery
Receiving approval for public-road testing is a significant milestone. Equally important is ensuring that the operational infrastructure behind the vehicle is fully prepared before the first mission begins. ALS completed the ROC ahead of the first road test, allowing monitoring procedures, operational workflows, and emergency response coordination to be established before vehicles entered mixed traffic.
As both the autonomous driving technology developer and vehicle manufacturer, Zelostech will continue supporting ALS throughout the testing program—not only by supplying L4 autonomous vehicles, but also by helping its local partner monitor fleet performance, improve operational efficiency, and coordinate timely responses whenever support is needed.
For Zelostech, customer success does not end with vehicle delivery. It extends throughout the entire operational lifecycle, from deployment and commissioning to day-to-day operations and continuous optimization. The launch of Malaysia's first autonomous vehicle ROC demonstrates that commitment in practice, laying the operational foundation for safe, scalable, and sustainable autonomous logistics across the country.
