Linz, Austria, April 9, 2025 — Zelostech has officially entered Europe with the deployment of its Z5 RoboVan in Austria. Now undergoing commissioning and reliability testing at the DigiTrans Test Center for Automated Driving, this deployment is the first step in bringing Zelostech’s proven L4 autonomous logistics technology to European operations.
DigiTrans is an Austrian automated driving company specializing in the testing, validation, and deployment of autonomous mobility technologies. Following a technical assessment of several autonomous vehicle platforms, the Z5 was selected for a five-stage evaluation covering vehicle safety, system reliability, and integration with logistics operations.
The collaboration combines Zelostech’s logistics-focused vehicle platform and full-stack L4 capabilities with DigiTrans’s local testing expertise, creating a structured path from vehicle validation to practical deployment in Europe.
Validating the Z5 for European Logistics Operations
The critical step is turning proven autonomous driving technology into a deployable logistics solution. This requires validating how the Z5 performs within local facilities, connects with existing operations, and supports everyday logistics workflows.
Testing at the DigiTrans facility will focus on three areas:
- Vehicle Safety and Reliability
Assessing driving performance, system stability, and readiness for sustained operation under controlled and repeatable conditions.
- Logistics Workflow Integration
Evaluating how the Z5 operates alongside site infrastructure, loading processes, facility operations, and energy-management requirements.
- Temperature-Controlled Logistics
Testing cold-chain logistics involving food, medicines, and other goods that depend on refrigerated transportation.
At the DigiTrans test center, Zelostech and DigiTrans can push the Z5 beyond basic functional testing in a dedicated, controlled environment. Configurable roads, intersections, traffic infrastructure, and repeatable operating conditions enable the partners to recreate specific scenarios, measure vehicle responses consistently, and identify potential deployment risks before the RoboVan enters broader operations.
DigiTrans’s five-stage test plan assesses both vehicle safety and the performance of the wider logistics solution. By evaluating the Z5 together with its operating environment, the program provides a stronger basis for deployment decisions before broader on-road applications are considered.

Building a Practical Path to European Deployment
The Austria deployment establishes a path for European validation, connecting technical testing with the operational requirements of freight and temperature-controlled logistics.
Results from the testing program will inform vehicle configuration, site integration, deployment planning, and technical support for future Zelostech projects across Europe. They will help determine how the Z5 can be adapted to regional infrastructure, safety expectations, and operating procedures.
The program also provides logistics operators and technology partners across Europe with a local reference for evaluating autonomous freight operations within existing facilities and temperature-controlled transport processes.
This deployment marks the beginning of Zelostech’s European expansion, turning local validation into a launchpad for autonomous logistics at scale across the region.
