Zelostech Launches Malaysia’s First L4 RoboVan Public-Road Trials, Witnessed by Transport Minister Anthony Loke
Kuala Lumpur, October 20, 2026 — The Zelostech RoboVan has officially begun public-road trials in Malaysia, marking a significant step forward in the country’s transition from controlled autonomous-vehicle testing to real-world logistics operations.
The milestone was announced at Transport Expo Asia (TXA) 2026 at the Malaysia International Trade and Exhibition Centre (MITEC), in the presence of Transport Minister Anthony Loke. Representatives from Zelostech, Autonomous Logistic Solutions Sdn. Bhd. (ALS), Selangor Information Technology and Digital Economy Corporation (Sidec), and Cyberview Sdn Bhd also attended the event.
Following the launch, the RoboVan will undergo a six-month trial on Malaysia’s Autonomous Vehicle (MyAV) testing route in Cyberjaya, covering approximately 22 kilometres in a mixed-traffic urban environment.
During the trial, Zelostech and ALS will support local operations and monitor autonomous driving performance, operating hours, distance travelled, completed trips, system interventions and other operational data. The programme will provide practical data and experience to support future commercial deployment of autonomous logistics in Malaysia.

From Controlled Testing to Public-Road Operations
The public-road trial is the latest stage in a phased programme of autonomous logistics testing in Malaysia. Zelostech began closed-course testing with Pos Malaysia in January 2026, followed by a live demonstration in Shah Alam in June. In July, Malaysia’s first Remote Operations Centre (ROC) dedicated to autonomous logistics was launched in Cyberjaya.
Each stage has increased operational complexity while maintaining clearly defined routes and operating parameters within the approved Operational Design Domain (ODD). Within that ODD, the RoboVan is designed to perform driving tasks without a driver, with remote personnel providing supervision and operational support.
Purpose-built for logistics, the RoboVan is designed around goods transportation, including cargo handling, fixed-route operations and remote fleet supervision.
The Cyberjaya route includes commercial areas, educational institutions, MRT stations, business centres, intersections and pedestrian crossings, allowing autonomous logistics to be evaluated in urban conditions that cannot be fully replicated in a closed test facility.

Building Malaysia’s Autonomous Logistics Ecosystem
The deployment builds on Cyberview’s MyAV testing route. Originally launched in 2020 as a seven-kilometre route, the network was expanded by 15 kilometres in 2025, bringing its total length to approximately 22 kilometres and providing developers with a real-world environment for autonomous-vehicle testing.
“The deployment of the fully driverless RoboVan on public roads represents an important milestone for Malaysia’s autonomous logistics ecosystem. Real-world operation is essential to understanding how autonomous technology performs within everyday logistics environments, and this trial provides an opportunity to generate practical operational experience while working within an approved operating framework,” said by Terry Zhou, Managing Director of Zelostech Singapore
Supporting Local Operations Through Remote Supervision
The trial also builds on the Remote Operations Centre launched in Cyberjaya in July 2026 by Sidec, ALS and Cyberview. The ROC will support operations through live video, vehicle telemetry, route information and system diagnostics, providing remote oversight while vehicles operate without an onboard driver within the approved ODD.
The collaboration between technology providers, local operators, ecosystem partners and government stakeholders is intended to develop the operational capabilities needed for safe and scalable autonomous logistics deployment in Malaysia.

Operating Within Malaysia’s Regulatory Framework
The public-road trial is being conducted following the required approvals under Malaysia’s autonomous vehicle regulatory framework, involving relevant authorities including the Ministry of Transport (MoT), Road Transport Department (JPJ), Land Public Transport Agency (APAD), Ministry of Digital and Futurise.
The vehicle’s legal registration and deployment on approved public roads mark an important transition from controlled testing toward structured real-world autonomous operations.
The Cyberjaya trial demonstrates how purpose-built autonomous vehicles can progress from technology validation toward practical logistics deployment. Zelostech will continue working with local partners and stakeholders to explore applications across warehouses, logistics hubs, manufacturing facilities, ports, airports and other industrial environments.
